This project explores the industrial, social and environmental legacies of Bonawe Iron Furnace and the ways it shaped the existing landscape through field research, archives, and visual experiments to connect the unseen and intangible histories of sites by looking at the varied legacies, tales and manipulations of the environment.
It aims to deconstruct conventional images of the Scottish landscape, often romanticised as wild, untouched and separate from modernity and human influence, by eroding the binary categorisation of ‘nature’ and ‘industry’.
